Gold value over Rs 80 lakh was seized in separate incidents on the airport right here over the previous two days and two individuals who arrived by repatriation flights had been arrested on this connection, officers mentioned on Tuesday.
In the primary incident, the sleuths, performing on a tip, examined a passenger on his arrival from Dubai at present and recovered Rs 15.60 lakh gold hid in his interior garment.
In one other incident on Monday evening, gold in paste type weighing 1.2 kg value Rs 66.73 lakh was seized from two passengers.
During questioning, the duo, hailing from the town, knowledgeable the authorities that the gold was given to them by one other 5 passengers who had arrived from Sharjah earlier.
The gold seized within the two incidents weighed 1.48 kg and price Rs 82.Three lakh, an official launch from the Customs division mentioned.
