Latur district collector G Sreekanth rode a bicycle to verify if norms associated to relaxations within the lockdown are complied with and fined a store for working past deadline.
In a video of the incident, the collector could be seen taking motion towards the shopkeeper involved and resuming his journey late night.
A nice of Rs 5,000 was imposed on the shopkeeper and the store was ordered to stay shut for the subsequent 15 days.
When requested concerning the incident, the collector instructed PTI that the incident occurred when he was headed to go to a COVID hospital.
“I do cycling daily as an exercise, but I decided to visit the hospital riding my bicycle that day,” he mentioned on Monday.
The administration on Sunday introduced that the lockdown might be reimposed within the district from July 15 to 30.
