The Uttar Pradesh police on Saturday arrested a person for allegedly duping over 600 folks of round Rs 60 crore on the promise of a 60 p.c return on their investments.
The Special Task Force of the UP police stated it arrested the racket’s mastermind, Hari Om Yadav, from Chandpur village in Sultanpur Road in Lucknow beneath Gosaiganj police station at round 5 am.
The police additionally confiscated three cell phones, 5 cheque books, one passbook, an Aadhaar card, a laptop computer and Rs 700 money from the accused, the STF stated in a press release.
The STF stated it made the arrest following a probe into complaints by a number of people who they’ve been duped of their cash on the promise of 60 p.c returns on their investments.
During the probe, it transpired that the racket was being run via a multi-level advertising and marketing mechanism, with Hari Om Yadav, doubling as CMDs of Alaska Real Estate Pvt Ltd, Alaska Commodities and Alaska Enterprises and duping round 600 individuals for Rs 60 crore.
A case was registered on this connection at Gosaiganj police station beneath varied sections of the IPC, and as many as 9 members of the gang had been arrested earlier on September 15, the assertion stated.
