Two individuals have been arrested in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district on Thursday for allegedly beating up a Dalit man for touching their meals which led to his loss of life, an official mentioned. Bhura Soni and Santosh Pal are accused of brutally thrashing Devraj Anuragi (25) on Monday at Kishanpur village within the district. He died hours later.
Soni and Pal have been arrested on Thursday, mentioned district collector Sheelendra Singh. The district administration sanctioned support of Rs eight lakh for Anuragi’s household as per the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, he added.
Sub Divisional Justice of the Peace (SDM) Avinash Rawat met the household and guaranteed that they may get safety, Singh mentioned. The incident passed off when Anuragi was attending a celebration given by Soni and Pal.
According to his household, he informed them upon return that the 2 thrashed him for touching their meals. The accidents on his again urged that he was overwhelmed up with a stick, the household informed the police. Soon thereafter he complained of ache within the chest and died.
The accused have been booked beneath related sections of the Indian Penal Code together with homicide, and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
