National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned Rs 795 crore for reconstructing infrastructure broken by Cyclone Amphan that ripped by West Bengal in May, an official from the company mentioned on Thursday.
The state authorities had sought Rs 1,028 crore from NABARD for repairing impaired embankments below Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF).
The quantity of Rs 795 crore was sanctioned following the enchantment by the federal government, the official mentioned.
Cyclone Amphan had ripped by West Bengal on May 20, killing 96 individuals and abandoning a path of destruction.
NABARD has already offered Rs 145 crore below RIDF to the state as particular liquidity help for reinforcing rural infrastructure in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
