The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has declared Karvy Stock Broking as a defaulter for non-compliance with the regulatory provisions of the bourse.
In addition, Karvy Stock Broking has been expelled from the membership of the change, the NSE stated in a round.
The transfer efficient from November 23, was taken as the dealer did not adjust to NSE pointers, it added.
Under the rules, inventory brokers are required to meet their obligations and mustn’t contain in any misconduct, or unprofessional conduct amongst others.
Earlier, Karvy had unauthorisedly transferred securities of shoppers into its demat accounts by misusing the PoAs (Power of Attorney) given by its shoppers.
In November 2019, the market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) had barred Karvy from taking new brokerage shoppers after it was discovered that the brokerage agency had allegedly misused shoppers’ securities to the tune of greater than Rs 2,000 crore. The agency misused shopper collateral for its personal trades.
Besides, Karvy was disabled (buying and selling rights withdrawn) by the NSE in December 2019.
