Oil India Ltd has objected earlier than the National Green Tribunal to a preliminary report filed by a committee of consultants on the hearth incident in Assam’s Baghjan oil effectively saying it’s primarily based on desk analysis and evaluate of secondary information.

The Committee of Experts has not made a site-visit until the submitting of the Preliminary Report, it stated.
“It is stated and submitted that the observations and findings of the Committee of Experts are based on Desk Research and review of secondary data made available through Reports and documents received from various stakeholders,” Oil India stated.
The NGT on June 24 had constituted a committee headed by former excessive court docket decide B P Katakey to look into the matter and submit a report.

Oil India stated that the committee has closely relied upon statements of an environmentalist which aren’t primarily based on any credible evidences.
