India on Thursday asserted that the upkeep of peace and tranquility alongside the Line of Actual Control (LAC) is the premise of its bilateral relationship with China, and stated it anticipated the Chinese aspect to be honest in finishing the disengagement of troops in jap Ladakh.
At an internet media briefing, MEA Spokesperson Anurag Srivastava stated one other spherical of diplomatic talks beneath the framework of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC) is predicted to be scheduled quickly.

“Therefore it is our expectation that the Chinese side will sincerely work with us for complete disengagement and de-escalation and full restoration of peace and tranquility in the border areas at the earliest as agreed to by the Special Representatives,” Mr Srivastava added.
National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held an almost two-hour-long telephonic dialog on July 5 to carry down pressure between the armies of the 2 nations in jap Ladakh.
Both sides started the disengagement course of from July 6 following the talks between Mr Doval and Mr Wang, who had been Special Representatives for the boundary query.
“We have also made it clear that India is fully committed to observing and respecting the LAC and that we will not accept any unilateral attempts to change the status quo along the LAC,” stated Mr Srivastava.
He stated the 2 sides have agreed throughout the dialog of the Special Representatives to work in the direction of full disengagement of the troops alongside the LAC and de-escalation from India-China border areas for full restoration of peace and tranquility.
