A police grievance was filed on Monday towards veteran journalist Patricia Mukhim by a village council in Meghalaya over her Facebook submit, claiming that it’d incite communal rigidity, officers mentioned.
Ms Mukhim, a Padma Shri awardee and the editor of The Shillong Times newspaper, had hit out on the Lawsohtun village ‘dorbar‘ (council) on Facebook for failing to determine the “murderous elements” after 5 boys had been attacked at a basketball court docket on Friday.

According to the grievance, some media homes in West Bengal had publicised the problem by giving communal color due to her submit mentioning the 1979 battle between tribals and non-tribals.

Reacting to the grievance, Patricia Mukhim mentioned: “I will fight it out (in court).”
