Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday condoled the demise of famous atomic scientist Sekhar Basu, and stated he performed a key function in establishing India as a lead nation in nuclear science and engineering.
Sekhar Basu, a veteran atomic scientist and former chairman of Atomic Energy Commission, died as a consequence of COVID-19 early on Thursday at a non-public hospital in Kolkata.
He breathed his final simply three days after turning 68.
