New Delhi:
Congress chief Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday attacked the BJP authorities in Uttar Pradesh over the fast rise in coronavirus circumstances, alleging that the illness has taken a “gigantic form” because the Yogi Adityanath dispensation didn’t take note of key containment measures equivalent to testing and phone tracing.
The Congress basic secretary has been criticising the state authorities’s response to the COVID-19 disaster, alleging that it’s indulging in propaganda, as a substitute of coping with the pandemic.
“Despite almost three months of lockdown and all claims of the UP government, coronavirus cases have increased sharply in 25 districts of UP in July,” she stated in a tweet in Hindi.
There has been a soar of 200 per cent in COVID-19 circumstances in three districts of UP, 400 per cent in three districts and above 1,000 per cent in a single district, Priyanka Gandhi stated.
“According to media reports, 70 per cent of the COVID-infected people in Prayagraj died within 48 hours of testing positive,” she stated.
“We were afraid of this and therefore, at the beginning itself, we had written a letter to the Chief Minister of UP and gave constructive suggestions in this context and also raised the issue of maximum testing,” she stated.
The illness has taken this “gigantic form” due to the shortage of consideration to testing, delay in giving reviews, juggling of knowledge and never doing contact tracing correctly, Priyanka Gandhi alleged.
The UP authorities has no solutions on these points, she added.
Uttar Pradesh on Friday reported 38 deaths, its highest single-day spike in coronavirus fatalities, elevating the toll to 1,084 whereas 1,919 recent circumstances pushed the an infection tally to 45,363, officers stated.
