A senior Mumbai police official has claimed that Sushant Singh Rajput’s brother-in-law, an IPS officer, had requested him to pressurise the actor’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty to finish their relationship.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Paramjitsingh Dahiya advised a TV channel that OP Singh, brother-in-law of Sushant Rajput and senior IPS officer of Haryana police, had made the request in February this 12 months.
Sushant Singh Rajput, 34, was discovered lifeless at his residence in suburban Bandra on June 14.
“Singh asked me to call Rhea Chakraborty to the police station informally and pressurise her,” stated Mr Dahiya, who was the zonal police head of Bandra area until April 1.
Mr Dahiya stated Mr Singh allegedly advised him that Sushant Singh Rajput’s household felt Rhea Chakraborty was “controlling” the actor and wished her out of his life.
Mr Dahiya stated the actor’s household didn’t submit a written grievance. He stated OP Singh made the casual request (to pressurise Rhea Chakraborty) to him by WhatsApp messages on February 18 and 25.
The DCP stated Mr Singh visited Mumbai on February 5 and allegedly advised him to tell Sushant Singh Rajput that he was in Mumbai. He additionally requested that an individual known as Miranda be stored in a day’s police custody, with none grievance or investigation, Mr Dahiya claimed.
The DCP stated he “politely and firmly” advised Mr Singh that it was not doable for him to name anybody to the police station and maintain him in custody because it was in opposition to process.
Mr Dahiya stated he requested Mr Singh to file a written grievance primarily based on which the matter could be investigated. “The written complaint never came,” he added.
Sushant Rajput’s father KK Singh has launched a video saying he alerted Mumbai police on February 25 that his sons life was at risk.
On Monday, Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh stated the household did not increase any suspicion when town police recorded their statements on June 16. “At that moment, they didn’t raise any suspicion and also didn’t complain about any lapse in our investigation,” he stated.
