Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has introduced {that a} multi-model logistics park might be constructed in Silchar and the Balacherra-Harengajao part of the Silchar-Saurashtra Highway might be accomplished in March 2022.
According to a press assertion, Mr Gadkari made this announcement at a public assembly at Zero Point on the East-West Corridor at Madhurmukh at Rangpur on Friday.

In response to the request made by Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister Gadkari mentioned that the logistics park might be constructed in Silchar and development works of East-West Corridor can be expedited and two new bridges would come up over the Barak river.
Mr Gadkari requested Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to ship a proposal for Rs 250 crore undertaking within the Corporate Social Responsibility Fund for the Barak Valley.
Announcing that the water transport system of Brahmaputra can be strengthened, the Union Minister mentioned that dredging work on Barak river has additionally been accomplished.
