Mumbai’s civic physique has recommended use of digital platforms to keep away from bodily contact in its repose to Bihar Police’s letter searching for exemption from dwelling quarantine norms for IPS officer Vinay Tiwari who arrived in Mumbai on Sunday to research the demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
In a letter issued on Tuesday, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) requested Bihar Police to make use of digital platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, Jio Meet, Microsoft Teams or others, for interactions within the metropolis.
The BMC said this in its response to the letter submitted by Bihar Police on August three searching for exemption from dwelling quarantine protocols for Mr Tiwari.
The Patna metropolis SP, who landed in Mumbai on Sunday to go a staff of Bihar police probing the Sushant Rajput demise case, was quarantined by the BMC for 14 days.
“This (Use of digital platforms) will not only ensure that the officer (Tiwari) does not transmit the infection (in case he is carrying it from Bihar) to officials with whom he will contact, in view of the coronavirus pandemic prevalent in Bihar, nor he gets infected by coronavirus during his physical visits to various officials of the Govt of Maharashtra in Mumbai (sic),” reads the BMC letter signed by extra municipal commissioner P Velrasu.
The BMC additional stated Mr Tiwari should adjust to all the foundations and rules prescribed by the Maharashtra authorities.
Sushant Singh Rajput, 34, was discovered useless at his condominium in suburban Bandra on June 14.
The Bihar Police staff is probing a separate “abetment to suicide” case filed by the late actor’s father in Patna in opposition to his son’s Mumbai-based girlfriend and budding actress Rhea Chakraborty.
The Bihar authorities advisable that the probe within the case be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) – a request that the Central authorities has accepted.
