A 26-year-old lady who was shot by three males in a case of tried loot close to Gurgaon’s Golf Course Extension street on Tuesday succumbed to her accidents on Thursday night.
“The woman had sustained a gunshot injury to her head and had been on ventilator since she was admitted. She passed away this evening,” PRO of Gurgaon Police, Subhash Boken, stated.
The incident occurred round 11.15 pm on Tuesday, when Pooja Sharma, who hails from Chhattisgarh and labored at Wipro in Gurgaon, and Sagar Manchanda have been travelling in the direction of Sector 40.
“We have been told they intended to get married… The complainant (Manchanda) had taken her to see a flat he had booked in Sector 65, and they were returning when the incident occurred,” stated ACP (Crime) Preet Pal Sangwan.
Manchanda has stated they have been 50 metres from Golf Course Extension Road when Sharma, who was on the wheel, slowed down the automobile on recognizing three males on a motorbike travelling in the direction of them from the improper facet. As they approached their automobile, Manchanda acknowledged, two of the boys bought off the bike, with one strolling to Sharma’s facet of the automobile and the opposite to Manchanda’s. Both, he alleged, pulled out pistols and signaled to them to roll down the home windows. When their instructions weren’t adopted, the person on Manchanda’s facet of the automobile moved in the direction of the entrance and fired on the windshield in his course.
Though Manchanda was not hit, Sharma tried to drive away, and the person on her facet of the automobile shot her in the pinnacle by her window.
The males fled following the capturing, and Manchanda drove to Medanta. Police stated the incident is suspected to be a case of tried loot, however added it may be a case of non-public enmity.
Until Thursday night time, officers have been but to make an arrest.
“There were no CCTV cameras at the spot but we are going through footage from cameras nearby. The incident took place at night so things are anyway not clearly visible in camera footage, and the quality of cameras from which we have extracted footage is not very good, but we are going through it all. All our teams are on the case,” stated ACP Sangwan.
