The authorities on Tuesday relaxed norms for the export of face shields, sure type of surgical masks and medical goggles that are in demand as a result of coronavirus pandemic.
The authorities has made export of face shields free and permitted outward shipments of two/Three ply surgical masks and medical goggles with sure situations.
Earlier export of two/3 Ply surgical masks, medical goggles and face shields have been banned within the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.
The export of those masks and goggles is moved from banned class to restricted one, underneath which an exporter has to hunt a permission or licence from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).
A notification is “amended to the extent that the export policy of 2/3 Ply surgical masks, medical goggles is amended from prohibited to restricted category and export of face shields has been made free,” the DGFT mentioned in a notification.
It mentioned {that a} month-to-month export quota of 4 crore models has been mounted for two/3 Ply surgical masks, and 20 lakh models per thirty days for medical goggles for issuing licenses to eligible candidates as per the standards to be individually issued.
These merchandise are in enormous demand on account of COVID-19 pandemic.
