The University of Kansas runs one of the nation’s top basketball programs, having won the 2022 national championship.
The Allen Fieldhouse, home of the men’s and women’s basketball teams, is one of the most historic sporting venues in the nation. The arena opened in 1955 and has a capacity of 16,300, though the crowd noise would have you believe it’s even higher.
During a February 2017 men’s game between the Jayhawks and West Virginia Mountaineers, the Allen Fieldhouse spectators created a record sound of 130.4 dB.

The Wildcats play their home games at Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium in Manhattan. Kansas State will open its season at home against the South Dakota Coyotes on Sept. 3.
Flint Hills

Located in the Great Plains, Flint Hills is in the Manhattan part of Kansas.

Botanica, The Wichita Gardens has been open for 35 years. It features nearly 18 acres of beautiful flowers, gardens, and fountains. This is an ideal visiting spot for a tourist who’s looking for a low-key and relaxing activity, especially during a beautiful spring or summer day in Kansas.
During the Christmas season, Botanica, and The Wichita Gardens go all-out in spreading holiday cheer. For its annual Christmas exhibits, the gardens put up more than two million lights.
If you’re in Wichita for a day or two, it’s easy to plan a day right around the Botanica, Wichita Gardens. There are plenty of restaurants and several popular tourist attractions nearby, including The Museums on the River and the Old Cowtown Museum.

History and museum lovers will have no shortage of options if they come to visit The Wheat State.
In 2017, the Evel Knievel Museum in Topeka. This palace is obviously a must-see for anybody who grew up a fan of the iconic American stuntman. The museum is open on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Tuesdays, and it offers guided tours for those interested.
The previously mentioned Old Cowtown Museum in Wichita opened its doors 70 years ago. Visitors are given a feel of what life was like in 1870s Kansas. Workers at the museum dress up in that era and offer re-enactments of events and activities in that time period.
Those who love L. Frank Baum’s classic novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and the iconic 1939 live-action film may also love the Oz Museum in the small city of Wamego (located in Pottawatomie County).
